3 Impactful Ways To Start Living Your Travel Truths

Travel truths is a term (maybe I invented or it’s been used before I don’t really know) that I like to use to refer to those realizations, moments of clarity, and those moments when we just feel the most “us” and that we just feel like THIS is the kind of feeling we want to keep feeling.

It’s the freedom, feeling of possibility, and the knowing that we are meant to live this way all the time.

It’s a feeling (or a few feelings, ideas) that you’ve experienced on your travels, that you feel so strongly about, and know that you want to implement into your life back home.

What do your travel truths look like?

We are all different.

We travel and we experience the world and situations in a variety of ways that differ between people.

What one experience looks like for one, is different for the other.

Therefore, the way you can look at what your travel truth looks like, I would recommend you think of the following.

  1. Think back to that moment or moments that made you feel the happiest.
    • Was it a view?
    • A meal?
    • The company?
    • The conversation?
  2. What epiphanies did you experience?
    • A sudden clarity around something?
    • An answer to a question you had?
    • A new question that came about?
    • A boost or push towards uncovering a goal or going towards a new goals or dreams?
  3. Whatever the clarity is around the answers to these questions, that’s the beginning of finding out what your travel truths are.

The importance of living your travel truths

There is a quote that says…

The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.

Carl Jung

As travelers, we get a taste for what is available to us when we travel and explore other cities, ways of life, social norms, customs, and traditions.

We feel the feelings of freedom, possibility, happiness, being in our element, constantly learning, and feeling the most “us.”

We are our happiest because we are living in a way that feels the most right to us.

When we are truly living our best life/our happiest life, we not only enjoy that ourselves, but we inspire and give others permission to do the same- without even saying a word; purely by our actions and energy.

At the end of the day, the world needs happier people, so do what you love.

In the end, if you ask someone why they love to travel, they’ll end up saying something similar to this.

It’s a common travel truth for many.

Concluding thoughts on 3 Impactful Ways To Start Living Your Travel Truths

When I was discovering what that was for me, I looked back at *those* moments that I remember left a lasting impression on me.

The sunsets, the conversations, the people I met, the surprising ways I showed up, the “what-ifs” that didn’t seem so out there when I was surrounded by an atmosphere, a certain air, a community of like-minded souls who also felt that way.

That possibility and freedom are attainable, and they are our right to live in always.
